Rock The Block!

Successful Living, in partnership with the City of Iowa City, invites the public to help celebrate Iowa City’s eastside Towncrest businesses during Successful Living’s 25th anniversary and Rock the Block party.

This afternoon of fun will take place from noon to 5 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 15, 2023, at Towncrest as we celebrate with the businesses that make up the Towncrest area, including Towncrest Drive, Wade and William streets.

Bring your family and friends to take part in the activities or just enjoy the opportunity to gather and appreciate our local businesses. Iowa City Mayor Bruce Teague will be in attendance to make remarks at 1:30 p.m., highlighting the work of Successful Living during their 25th anniversary.

There will be many things to do at this family-friendly event - browse the Art Show with works of art for sale, listen to live music, enjoy $1 hard shell tacos, a bouncy house, Pepe’s Ice Cream truck, Da Flava Unit food truck with jerk chicken, balloon animals, cotton candy, popcorn, yard games, caricature artist, face painting, and more!

This event is co-hosted by the City of Iowa City, along with at least a dozen participating Towncrest area businesses, that will each offer activities at their locations.

Successful Living is a non-profit human services organization serving persons 18 years and older who are affected by mental illness. The organization helps clients on their path to building better lives for themselves. Learn more at www.icsuccess.org.
