Juneteenth Recognition

Happy Juneteenth!

On behalf of Successful Living, I would like to recognize an important day in our U.S. history. Please take some time to recognize Juneteenth as a day which shapes our history and our lives and have a look at the link below for information and activities celebrating this day, events going through 6/20/2023. Successful Living is appreciative of the federal recognition and the impacts this has in improving our society and culture.

The Johnson County Board of Supervisors proclaims June 19, 2023, as #Juneteenth Freedom Day in Johnson County. Juneteenth commemorates the end of slavery in the United States. On June 19, 1865, 2 ½ years following the Emancipation Proclamation, Union soldiers read aloud the order in Galveston, Texas, freeing 250,000 slaves then residing in the state.
