Re-Entry Parole Simulation
Two members of our Housing Program team, Alisha Pearson and Nicole Mallett, attended a simulation recently that is intended to show how difficult it can be for parolees to successfully re-enter the community after leaving jail. Our Housing Program Coordinator, Alisha Pearson, had this to say:
"It definitely gave insight as to what our clients may go through, especially if they do not get the benefit of coming straight to Successful Living upon release. During the simulation, about "3 weeks" in, I did find myself just standing there thinking it would be easier to go back to jail, as I couldn't figure out how to get everything done that I needed to, due to lack of time, finances and resources."
